Michael Ellis Wealth Management held a stand at the VetsNorth Veterinary Exhibition in Manchester, for a second year running.
Highlights included having our own speaker Chris Cahill - Wealth Management Consultant at St. James’s Place Wealth Management’s Head Office in Cirencester, who gave an impressive presentation on Workplace Pensions Auto Enrolment.
There was something of an international feel to VetsNorth 2013, the Veterinary Practice Reader Update held in Manchester on 28th and 29th June.
Although the event was set up last year with the aim of providing a top-class CPD event for veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and practice managers in the north-west, this year delegates flew in from Norway, Sweden and even the USA, to join colleagues from Wales (including Machylleth, Cardigan, Holywell and Abergavenny), Scotland (Edinburgh and Fife), and England (as far south as Hampshire and as far north as Cumbria but also the north-east (Middlesbrough) and many other places including Coventry and West Bromwich, and from counties such as Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire, Shropshire, etc., as well as Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
The number of veterinary surgeons attending was just over 40% up on last year but the attendance of nurses was rather disappointing, especially after a considerable number of requests had been received to run a nursing stream. Nevertheless those who did attend found it both useful and enjoyable.
